INTRODUCTION
The 8th International Conference on Optics-Photonics Design and Fabrication, “ODF’12”, Saint Petersburg, will be held on July, 02-5th, 2012 on the boat “Vissarion Belinsky”, starting from the port of Saint-Petersburg , on the route to Ladoga Lake, visiting Valaam and Mandrogi, and arriving back to Saint-Petersburg.
The conference ODF “goes” abroad for the second time, first out-of Japan ODF conference took place in Taiwan in 2008.
Optics-Photonics design and fabrication will continue to play a significantly important role in the 21st century, achieving harmony between technology and the environment and building bridges for real international cooperation worldwide.
ODF’12 provides an international forum for original paper presentations and discussions of optics-photonics design and fabrication-related technological and scientific topics, including theory, design, fabrication, testing, applications and others.

SCOPE OF THE CONFERENCE
ODF’12 is an international forum for the engineers and scientists in the field of Optics-photonics Design and Fabrication to exchange their ideas and achievements with the goal of future mutual progress. The conference will consist of sessions on optics-photonics design, simulation, optical components, optical systems, and optical technology. These sessions will cover the fields of lens design, optical theory, fabrication and testing, software, DOE’s, micro-optics, nano-photonics, photonic crystals, near- field optics, thin films, waveguides and fiber optics, MEMS, lasers, illumination optics, information optics, optical storage, optical lithography, microscopy, displays, bio-medical optics and new technologies for optics & fabrication. A special session on “Optics for Energy” is also planned.
